About Allison Jacobs Photography

About me... I love Starbucks soy latte with 2 pumps of hazelnut. I think that learning my Droid X came with a Kindle reader already installed was a wonderful surprise. Celebrate is my word for 2011. The best thing about the weekend is spending it with my family. I believe I was born to live near the ocean. I am a runner. Learning about photography everyday makes me happy. I learned how to cook from watching the Food Network. Hmmm....that is not everything about me but hopefully it is enough for you to look through my blog and maybe leave me a comment or 2 so I know you were here! XOXO

The Way I View… | New Beginnings

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Once a month I am participating with an inspiring group of photographers who are all part of CMPro at the Clickinmoms photography forum.  We will start each month using the prompt, How I View… Then add in a new theme each month for this prompt.  For February, we are all posting images inspired by the statement, how I view new beginnings.  New beginnings can mean so many things.  For me, I think of new beginnings as a time to start fresh and I like that.  I like the thought of a new beginning.  I like knowing I can start again, start over, have another try at something.  When I saw these birds take flight at the beach last week it felt like they were a perfect illustration of a new beginning.  I feel like starting something new can be like taking a leap of faith.  You have to step out of your comfort zone.  And when you do step out of your comfort zone there is a really good chance that you will soar.

You can travel through the circle of 12 photographers to see how they see new beginnings starting with Tiffany Bender Pittsburgh Professional Photographer next.

tradition | P52 | mission san Juan Capistrano

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

There are lots of traditions, legends, and history associated with Mission San Juan Capistrano including the Serra’s Chapel which is the oldest building in California still in continuous use. It is ornate and when you sit in the chapel you can just feel the tradition. I love walking through the mission and imagining all the people who have come before me. I tried to capture the mystery I sensed while I walked the grounds in my images.

Over the past year I have joined together with 10 other women to post an image focusing on the same theme each week through The Bloom Forum. This circle is not only given me a focus for the week for my photography but it is also inspirational. Be sure to see what Jessica Marchetti – Dallas Family Photographer has found this week.

light | P52 | aliso creek beach

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

There is something magical about the light here in southern California and there is no lack of light at the beach. These were taken about one hour before sunset when the sun was hovering over the water and reflecting off almost every surface.

Over the past year I have joined together with 10 other women to post an image focusing on the same theme each week through The Bloom Forum. This circle is not only given me a focus for the week for my photography but it is also inspirational. Be sure to see what Melanie Kay Photography – Thousand Oaks Child Portrait Photographer has found this week.
