This is me!

About Allison Jacobs Photography

About me... I love Starbucks soy latte with 2 pumps of hazelnut. I think that learning my Droid X came with a Kindle reader already installed was a wonderful surprise. Celebrate is my word for 2011. The best thing about the weekend is spending it with my family. I believe I was born to live near the ocean. I am a runner. Learning about photography everyday makes me happy. I learned how to cook from watching the Food Network. Hmmm....that is not everything about me but hopefully it is enough for you to look through my blog and maybe leave me a comment or 2 so I know you were here! XOXO

Me and Mine | San Juan Capistrano

It is amazing how fast time goes by and here I am posting the second round of Me and Mine. This monthly challenge is with a fabulous group of photographers from The Bloom Forum. Gavin and I met up again with San Diego photographer Jules Trandem but this time in Orange County (you can see my Me and Mine image from January here). We explored the historic Rios District and found some perfect places for photos.  Gavin & I are sitting on a bench in front of the Montanez Adobe which was built in 1794 and sits in one of the oldest neighborhoods in California.  There is just something about the history of this area that speaks to my heart.  Most of the homes are now shops and restaurants but in my imagination I can picture it as a small town near the Mission with a view of the Pacific Ocean.

Be sure you head over to see Jules Trandem | San Diego Child and Family Photographer then follow the circle all the way back.  I promise you will be inspired to capture images that include you in them!

Me and Mine

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

I have joined up with a fabulously talented group of photographers for a great new project for 2012 {that I am super excited about} and you can follow the links to see everyone’s image starting off with Jules Trandem | San Diego Child and Family Photographer.  We will be posting twice a month and one of the posts will include an image that has me in it.  This is a challenge for me.  I would much rather be on the other side of the camera.  The significance of this project is close to my heart for many reasons but most of all so that when Gavin grows up he has images that illustrate just how much I love him.  I am great at telling him everyday how special he is to me but I want him to have something tangible to hold that reflects that love back to him.  So, with that in mind I am letting go of whatever insecurities I have about being in front of the lens & trying to capture this relationship.  Thanks to Jules, I got this shot in Oceanside just last weekend!
