I have come across some really inspiring food bloggers, food stylists, and food photographers over the last few months since I joined up with a group of photographers all looking to learn more about food photography & styling. One thing I have learned {which seems really simple when I think about it} is that the light is just as important with food photography as it is with all other photography. Unfortunately, it seemed liked the time of day I had the food ready {trying to make it to photograph + eat for dinner} the natural light is gone. In this shot I noticed the late afternoon light coming in the window & hitting the dining room table at the same time I was cooking an artichoke to share with my son. Ah, the light. Hello.

I do love the light on this one! Lovely photo. I find the same problem as you…I like to eat the food I photograph, and most of it is dinner time food. So no natural light.
Thanks Kay! Yes, while I love photographing food I also want to eat it when I am done! Thank goodness for longer days right now.
